The ice skating facility includes all accommodation such as 6 players rooms, washrooms, bleachers to sit 600 spectators, multi-purpose room, elevator and snack-bar area. The work also included renovating the façade of the existing arena with architectural treatment that blends in harmoniously with the new sports complex.

Honco’s involvement as the general contractor in this olympic size ice arena project was to prepare a first draft of the architectural design and cost projection as well as the turn key execution of this project. Honco team has designed this arena to meet high energy efficiency. We mainly implemented items such as long-lasting high efficiency lighting having more light output. We also included a system that recuperates the heat from the freezing system compressors to heat the services building, the bleachers and the water for sanitary purposes. The use of a Honco building in such project is advantageous in regard to durability and energy efficiency.
