  • 2019

    ACQUISITION OF RIDGE NASSAU

    Honco Group adds a sixth subsidiary to its team by acquiring Ridge Nassau, a pioneering company specializing in the design and manufacture of a full line of hardware, rails, springs and accessories required for operation and installation of garage doors.

  • 2018

    Honco breaks records

    Honco Buildings performs an amazing feat by winning 5 recreational mandates out of 5 public bids submitted.

  • 2017

    garex makes an acquisition

    Garex Garage Doors acquires the assets of a factory in New Brunswick.

  • 2016

    Supervac relocates facilities

    Supervac 2000 changes its name to Supervac and moves operations to a new 48,000 sq. ft. facility in Levis.

    Honco completes a warehouse having 90 metres wides in Kazakhstan, the largest clear span in its history. The same year, the company wins the biggest contract in its history : the construction of six buildings for Agnico Eagle Mines at a cost of $25 million.

    Honco celebrates its 40 years of history

    The Group employs over 350 employees. It is constituted of five manufacturing companies that process more than 15 000 tons of steel per year and that serve more than 600 different customers at international level.

    Major investments

    The company proceeds to major investments in its divisions in order to improve production capacities of their factories.

    Sturo Métal expands its paint and drying room as well as the shipping/loading area of 14 950 sq.ft

  • 2012

    “Export Construction 2012” trophy

    The Quebec Construction Association (ACQ) has awarded to Honco, the “Export Construction 2012” trophy, in recognition of its development activities on the export market.
  • 2011

    working space doubled

    Honco has doubled the space of the shipping/receiving area for an additional area of 9 515 sq.ft.
  • 2009

    acquisition of Métalec

    Garex opens its distribution center in the Montreal area.

    The Honco Group acquires a manufacturing facility of steel doors that will be affiliated with Métalec Québec.

    A building expansion of 17 000 sq.ft. is completed at Sturo Métal factory and will serve for the production and material receiving areas.

  • 2008

    EXPANSION OF HEAD OFFICE

    A new expansion of 6 350 sq.ft. is built at the head office which includes a new shipping area, and a new office addition of 3000 sq.ft.

    This same year, Sturo Métal constructs its new office building.

  • 2007

    Honco obtain the CSA A660 certification.

    Honco is the first quebec located company to obtain the CSA A660 certification.

    The company proceeds to a new expansion of the storage area which will increase the inventory and help quickly respond to customers’ demands.

  • 2005

    Garex is expanding

    Garex is expanding the hardware area of 17 650 sq.ft. to make the operations more efficient.

  • 2004

    EXPANSION OF ITS factory

    Honco proceeds to a third expansion of its factory: 6417 sq.ft. for shipping-receiving-storage area.

    Métalec is expanding its factory : 7000 sq.ft. for new production equipments. It will help increase shipping volume.

  • 2000

    ACQUISITION OF Supervac

    Still focusing on the steel processing industry, the Group buys a new manufacturing facility, Supervac.

    Honco expands to new export markets and consolidates its position at international level.

    Garex proceeds to a second expansion of its factory : 7200 sq.ft. of fabrication area.

  • 1998

    ACQUISITION OF Sturo Métal

    Sturo Métal, a manufacturer of conventional steel structure and heavy metals is acquired by the Group.

    Garex is expanding its factory for the first time: 1075 sq.ft. for product storage area.

    Committed to its growth objectives and customers’ satisfaction policy, Honco quality control program has been certified ISO-9001.

    New offices

    The new 7 500 sq.ft. office building of the head office is built.
  • 1993

    Honco Group is founded

    The company is expanding by acquiring a steel door and frame manufacturer that will be later named Métalec.
  • 1991

    Acquisition of garex doors

    For business development purposes, Honco acquires a garage door manufacturer that will be later named Garex Doors.
  • 1990

    FAR NORTH OF QUÉBEC

    Honco team accomplishes a significant challenge : to build 3 community centers and 6 covered ice skating rink facilities in northern Quebec, within a 5-month schedule.
  • 1985

    INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE

    A branch office opens in Anjou to serve the greater Montreal area market.

    Honco makes its debut on the international market by obtaining contracts in several countries in Africa.

  • 1983

    REMARKABLE GROWTH

    Honco has experienced a remarkable growth. The basic supply services has now increased to full turn-key formula offering to its customers engineering, architectural and construction services all under one roof.
  • 1980

    SECOND ExtENSION

    Honco factory has been extended a second time and will serve for the steel coil storage, for a total floor surface of 25 370 sq.ft.
  • 1979

    New steel panel

    The company has undertaken an extensive search and development program from which it emerged the metric size structural steel panel, 25% more resistant than the former imperial size profiled panel.
  • 1978

    first EXTENSION

    The enterprise proceeds to the first factory extension in order to meet the ever-growing demand for Honco self-supporting buildings.  Its plant and offices has now reached a surface of 20 000 sq.ft.
  • 1975

    OBTAINING PATENT

    The company obtains the structural panel technology patents for Canada, the United States and some European communities.
  • 1974

    Honco business opens in Lévis

    A 8000 sq.ft. factory, including 600 sq.ft. offices, is built on a lot that is visible direct from Highway 20.
